Wesley DeCasere
Low Brass Instructor
My name is Wesley James DeCasere, a second-year Graduate Tuba Performance Major at the University of Minnesota and I hold a Bachelor of Music - Tuba Performance from the Lynn Conservatory of Music, where I studied with Mr. Kenneth Amis (Empire Brass, Palm Beach Opera). I also studied with Mr. Brian Brown(Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Pops Orchestra, Hollywood Recording Artist) and Dr. Joseph Guimares (United States Navy Band). Currently, I study with Steven Campbell of the Minnesota Orchestra. Additionally, I studied trombone with private teachers and in school for 11 years before playing tuba.
My performance experience includes orchestral, wind ensemble, drum corps, jazz band, and brass quintet settings. I have served professionally as the tubist of the South Florida Symphony Orchestra, BC Brass Quintet, and Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in Minneapolis, MN. Additionally, in high school, I participated in the District-Region-State Band circuit and toured with The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, which may be helpful for students wishing to advance in those areas.
