This smaller jazz combo at Southwest strives to perform pieces ranging from classic to modern so as to hone the performance, arranging and improvisational skills of each member of the ensemble.
At the core of this ensemble will be students exploring student-created arrangements and improvisation.
Only advanced jazz students who have proven themselves to be independent learners will be accepted into the jazz combo.
The Jazz Combo will perform at several Fridays during breakfast, Hot Notes, and at the instrumental music concerts throughout the school year.
This ensemble is facilitated by Reid Wixson with a number of guest artists supporting and meets Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during zero hour.
